Imagine Cup Global Competition

The Imagine Cup is more than just a technology competition. Over the past 19 years, more than two million student competitors have signed up to build something that matters to them, make a difference in their communities, and innovate for impact

There are four categories in the 2021 Imagine Cup competition – Earth, Education, Health, and Lifestyle. Get started building your tech skills by completing a Microsoft Learn module in the category you’re most passionate about to advance in the competition.

Every team member can complete any one of the 8 required Learning modules. Each submission will be entered into sweepstakes for the chance to win one of five monthly prizes of USD250! Once you’ve completed your module, submit your Microsoft Learn profile URL(s) to the Learn Challenge to advance to the Imagine Cup Online Semifinals.

Complete any one of these eight required Microsoft Learn modules:


  • Track wild polar bears with AI

  • Learn about space rocks and how to classify them


  • Classify endangered bird species with Custom Vision

  • Intro to Python for space exploration


  • Track global air quality with Azure Maps

  • Create an intelligent chatbot


  • Publish an Angular, React, Svelte, or Vue JavaScript app with Azure Static Web Apps

  • Explore and analyze data with Python
