The Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp is a unique opportunity to work with students, professionals, and experts from within and outside the nuclear industry who are excited about the future of clean energy. Each year between 25 and 30 participants are selected to spend two weeks learning from and working with experts across industries from all over the world. They are encouraged to ask hard questions and are expected to design ventures that will transform our future.

Who can apply:

  • Undergraduate students in any field who are currently in their third year or later

  • Graduate students (including PhD) in any field

  • Early-career professionals in any field who have been working for less than 5 years.

Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s demonstrated interest in clean energy innovation and/or business development. There are no implicit technical requirements to apply, although participants will be asked to think critically about technical possibilities throughout the program.

Applicants will be informed by email at the end of March of their selection. To finalize their enrollment the selected applicants will have to pay a fee of $100(USD) to secure their seat.

Directions for Applying:

Submit your application package during the Application Window of January 1- February 25, 2024.

The deadline for submitting applications is 11:59 PM(ET) on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Your application package must contain:

  1. Your CV (PDF file with the naming format: Lastname_Firstname_NIB2024)

  2. An essay answering the following questions (maximum 1500 words combined)

    1. What do you see as nuclear energy’s role in today’s clean energy landscape?

    2. Why is innovation in nuclear energy important to you?

    3. What are your career goals?

    4. What type of entrepreneurship experience do you have?

  3. One letter of recommendation uploaded by the reference in PDF file with the naming format: Lastname_Firstname_NIB2024_LOR, submitted here. All recommendations must be received by the February 25, 2024 deadline at 11:59 PM(ET).

NIB Financial Scholarship Request

Through sponsorships,  Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp (NIB) is committed to making sure that finances are not a barrier to attendance for participants.  Thus, NIB is pleased to offer financial assistance for those who are in need (NOTE: this option is only for those individuals who cannot personally afford the travel accommodations or their employer/academic institution will not cover them financially to attend).

In addition to the lodging, daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and ground transportation during Bootcamp (exclusive of airport transportation) that is inclusive to the NIB Participants during the duration of Bootcamp, your financial award will cover up to 50% of your travel needs outside of what Bootcamp is responsible for.   To request such assistance, please complete this form.
